Style Your Name

Here's the presentation for this week.

1. Follow a Tutorial. Use the PSD Tuts website to create an advanced effect on your name. This may require a lot of work and things we haven't learned in this class, but it's a good challenge and I recommend it. Not required though.
Here's the link to the list of tutorials to choose from: PSD Tuts Text Effects

2. Style your name using Brushes and the Type tool. Create a background layer, and decorate it with different brushes. You can make a pattern if you'd like. Create another layer, and put your name in it. Apply effects and styles to this layer. You can add more layers to the document to add more things to decorate with. You should use different textures and pictures to enhance the look of your name. You have to have at least 5 layers (appropriately named) but no more than 10 layers. Remember to think about the colors you choose.

Essentially this assignment is going to be an experiment in playing with layers, the type tool, and brushes. If you have questions please ask me, if I'm asking too much, let me know, and I can work with you to help you learn about something you may need for the assignment. If you're not going to use the tutorials website, at least take some inspiration from it. The site has a lot of good ideas and can help you.

DUE MONDAY 2/1/10.

Here are some examples for this project.
